Manufactured in 1862 after the fourth screw had been dropped from the production. German silver blade sight on barrel marked 'ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA'. The left side of the frame is marked 'COLTS/PATENT'. Small 'Q' inspector mark on most of the components and a small 'SS' is marked above the wedge.
The revolver is in fine condition overall. Approximately 20% blue remaining with the balance of the metal parts having a smooth brownish patina with some of the case-hardened pattern visible on the loading lever. The trigger guard has an aged patina, some traces of bright original case colours on the frame. The grips are fine, cartouches are strong. One frame screw is a replacement, naval scene and markings on cylinder are clear. Mechanically excellent, all numbers match.
