Produced between 1887 and 1910, the Number Three Target was Smith and Wesson's first handgun purpose made for target shooting, having a Paine bead front sight with adjustable notch rear sight fitted to the barrel latch.
The revolver retains 85% of the original nickel finish. A grey steel patina is visible on the grip straps and on the right side of the barrel, along the high edges. The grips are very good with a few light pressure marks. The bore is bright with very light pitting, action and lock up are very good.
