In 1853 approximately 700 Hartford-London Dragoon revolvers were manufactured in the white at Colt's Hartford factory and finished up in London with a mix of New York and London address barrels. This interesting revolver with the New York address came out of India in the 1970's when as a practice for those at that time exporting heritage items which were restricted the external serial numbers were defaced. The original serial number 524 is still clear on the wedge and cylinder arbor.
The revolver is in very good condition and retains a good amount of original finish, the cylinder has a very good scene and all safety pins are partialy intact. The 7½ in barrel has a very good bore and clear address. The chequered embellished grip (probably done in India) is in good condition with some high stop wear, the action and lockup are very good.
The revolver comes in a non-period brass bound oak case containing a James Dixon Flask, a Colt Dragoon mould, a 500 count Eley Colt cap tin, nipple wrench, cleaning rod and spare main spring, trigger and trigger/locking bolt spring.
