Manufactured between 1866 and 1879 with less than 1000 made. This rare version at one time was part of the renowned Remington Collection of Karl F. Moldenhauer and is featured on pages 160 and 161 of REMINGTON FIREARMS THE GOLDEN AGE OF COLLECTING by Robert W.D.Ball.
The rifle has the rare 24in half round / half octagon barrel with the deluxe figured walnut checkered stock. Originally manufactured in .36 percussion calibre (percussion cylinder included) it was converted by Remington to .38 RF calibre.
The rifle is in fine condition with a very good bore and action, for some reason unknown the triggerguard is stamped "34" on the left side.
