Sharps Model 1868 Carbine Cartridge Conversion

This carbine is one of approximately 27,000 converted from percussion to cartridge by the Sharps Manufacturing Company under a 1867 US Government contract. This example has the 3 grove relined barrel with the cam-operated firing pin and is in excellent plus condition with a clear DFC (D.F.Clark) sub-inspectors cartouche. The carbine has a excellent bore and action.
