Smith and Wesson No 3 First Model Transition Revolver

Serial Number 7276    .44 S&W American Calibre

Manufactured from 1870 to 1873, this was the first large frame top break revolver by Smith and Wesson.

This revolver with serial number 7276 is in the transition period towards the end of the first model production and has an 8" barrel with a very good bore.   The revolver retains about 65% plus original high polish blue finish.   The walnut grips are in very good condition with one small chip on the bottom left side and they are numbered to the revolver.   The hammer and trigger guard retain colour case hardening finish.   The action and lock up are excellent.   Matching numbers on the barrel, latch, cylinder and frame.

The revolver appears to have had very little use and is in very good condition for a First Model No 3.
