Barrel marked "WINCHESTER'S REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN CT. KING'S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29 1866 OCTOBER 16 1860 ".
A new front sight of German silver has been refitted in front of the original dovetail. This is a period modification. The rifle has a full length magazine, both barrels and magazine retain approximately 40% original blue finish with the rest mixing to a nice plum brown. The brass frame, nose cap and buttplate are very nice lovely untouched mustard yellow. The wood has been very lightly cleaned, with a few minor scratches.
A very good example of a '66' rifle.
