These are rarer variations of the 1861 Navy revolver, having a four-screw frame and milled grooves in the back strap (for attachment of the third model shoulder stock).
Revolver no. 271 has a steel back strap and trigger guard. Steel straps were only encountered on the four-screw variation. Revolver no. 2613 has a brass trigger guard and steel back strap. Some four-screw specimens are known to have both straps of brass.
The two revolvers are in a period double case containing a sloping charger powder flask "COLTS PATIENT", bullet mould, nipple wrench, two cap boxes and two packets of skin cartridges.
Both revolvers have matching numbers and good actions.
