Remington Rider Double Action Pocket Percussion Revolver
Serial Number 1259 .31 Calibre 31/8" Octagonal Barrel
Manufactured from 1860-1873, with a total production run of about 2000, this was one of the first double action revolvers made in quantity in the US.
The barrel is marked "Manufactured by Remington Ilion NY/Riders PT. AUG.17.1858.MAY.3.1859"
The barrel retains approximately 60-70% of the original blue finish and the frame retains 20% of the original finish in the protected areas. The trigger guard is German silver with a blue trigger retaining 75% of the original bright blue finish. Both the trigger guard and the hammer have a smooth, grey patina. The grips are excellent with a few scatter, minor dings and crisp chequering.
The markings are fine and the revolver has an excellent action.
