This very fine revolver manufactured at Samuel Colt's London factory in 1855 and appears to be in unfired condition. The standard 7½in barrel retains all of its original blue finish slightly thinning in places with an excellent bore and clear barrel address, the cylinder retains all of its original finish with a very clear scene and all safety pins intact.
The frame, loading lever and hammer all show good casehardening finish with all screws clean and good nitre blue finish. The metal trigger guard and back strap have some finish in protected areas with good nitre blue finish on the trigger. The walnut grip is in excellent condition retaining all of its original finish and is pencil numbered to the revolver. The revolver has all matching serial numbers including the wedge with a very good action and cylinder lockup.
The mahogany case is in very good condition inside and outside and contains a very good James Dixon bag flask, a Colt London Navy mould, nipple wrench, cleaning rod and 500 count cap tin with a G&J.W. Hawksley pewter oil bottle.
