Manufactured in 1875 originally for a contract for the Egyptian Government, it is currently believed only a very small quantity (if any) were delivered as Egypt, at this time, was remiss in a large sum owed to Remington for rolling block rifles.
This revolver has all the markings generally accepted as an Egyptian Contract, a stamped cartouche "FR" on the left hand grip with a "R" and star motif on the left side of the barrel and frame.
The revolver is in good condition with some original finish in protected aeras with all clear markings.
The barrel has a very good bore, the action is very good with a tight cylinder lock up, the walnut grips are in very good condition with a clear cartouche on the left hand grip.
